Due to the possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms and high winds, the On The Fly Bicycle Repair service will be moved from Friday April 26th and Saturday April 27th, to Saturday May 18th. Unfortunately, the forecasted weather appears too adverse for the mobile repair shop to be able to set up on our dock.
However, Joe with On The Fly has agreed to be here all day on May 18th, from 9am to 4 or 5pm, depending on how busy he remains throughout the day. Definitely plan to drop your bike of by 2pm if you want him to get to you. If you want to be extra sure he will get to your bike, or perhaps arrange a specific appointment, you can always contact him directly and let him know in person. You can ask questions or make an appointments with him at 847-436-2453.
ALSO DUE TO THE WEATHER…
The Rummage Sale will be held in the mall between the middle intersection and the space under the skylight. The chance of precipitation on Saturday April 27th is marginal, but we are expecting high winds. Therefore, we will be keeping the activity inside. The knife sharpener has confirmed for 9am to 12pm’ish, and we’ve confirmed that the mobile shredder will be here from 1:30pm and 4:30pm.
VENDORS, feel free to come down anytime after 7:30AM to claim your table and begin setting up. Residents and Owners on our RSVP list will have a first come first served choice of tables. We do ask that the extra long tables be shared by two vendors. If you are not on our RSVP list, you will be welcome to any table we have left AFTER 9am. Anyone is welcome to set up their own table.
The Shredder advised that notebooks, binders and rubber-bands should be removed from any materials you want shredded, but paper clips and staples are fine. They do not take cardboard boxes if you bring your stuff down in them, but you can dispose of those in the recycling dumpster in back. It is the smaller of the two large dumpsters and marked for recycling. (Neither to be confused with the very large construction dumpster that is there for the hallway project.)
Electronics Recycling boxes and a bin for Household Products are ready in the back for collections.
Wednesday April 24th at 6PM in our Party Room, a representative from Block Bins will be here to talk about the program here at Park Tower – how to join, how to participate and some dos and don’ts – as well as the benefits of composting.
