While painters were refinishing and painting the upper soffit and canopy around the building, a barricade they erected fell and crashed into the glass frame of the revolving door. This was quickly boarded up and locked off, and the revolving door has been unavailable since.
There are two challenges. First, the glass is a custom size, but it is also curved. This type of product is not available sitting on a shelf somewhere and has to be manufactured. So the bad news is the, the vendor reported at the time it would take about 12 weeks to get the new frame installed. They updated us this week and reported it will be about 7 to 8 more weeks.
The good news is, the vendor doing the painting and refinishing, Green Tech Decorating, stepped up and accepted responsibility. Since this is an almost $8000 fixture to replace and install, it’s no small penance for an accident.
