A plan is in place to complete the bulk of the work by Friday December 12th. Only severe cold or wet weather would halt progress at this point. Once the pours are complete, a final inspection will be conducted by Management and the Project Engineers. Within a week of the final pours on the driveway, we expect to be given a schedule as to when we can begin using it.
The curving radius points along the plaza railing should be installed by Saturday with the remainder of the protective fencing along Sheridan Road coming down. Once the driveway is completed, the railing along the south end of the sidewalk will be installed.
The vertical aggregate panels along the wall facing Sheridan Road should follow, with the exception of a section between the new ramp, the bus stop and the plaza. We are still waiting for word from ComEd as to when they will be beginning the repairs and replacement to their vault. We have been told this will include tearing up most of the sidewalk along this stretch of the plaza. Installing the panels along this section could result in them being damaged once work begins. So we are holding off on that portion of the work until we have more details.
After the bulk of the work is completed, a thorough cleaning will take place. Management and the Project Engineer will begin assessing any deficiencies or punchlist items the contractor will need to address before final payment is made on the contract.
