The nationwide test is required for all broadcast, cable and satellite companies to allow the FCC and FEMA to determine how well the nationwide EAS works and what, if any, improvements may be necessary.
The test will last approximately one minute. During the test all programming will be interrupted, you will not be able to change the channel and the EAS test message will display on the screen. At the end of the EAS test all services will return to normal.
