Work On The 47th And 48th Floors Will Be Getting Underway As Expected On Monday September 25th.

We anticipate work to begin on floors 47 and 48 on Monday September 25th, and barring any unknowns, on 45 and 46 on Monday October 9th. The schedules should unfold similarly to the expected schedule below. Unit doors will be done one floor at a time, Mondays and Tuesdays then Wednesdays and Thursdays (consistent with the schedule), between 9am and 5pm. DOORS WILL NEED TO BE OPEN FOR THE APPROPRIATE WORK TO BE DONE, and for effective drying of the new paint.

Schedules are posted online at www.ptcondo.com, usually a few weeks in advance of the scheduled start date. Door drops with specific schedules are expected to go out for each floor, sometime the week before work is expected to begin.

We anticipate the hallway remodeling work to begin on floors 47 and 48 on Monday September 25th, and barring any unknowns, on 45 and 46 on Monday October 9th. The schedules are expected unfold similarly on all floors.

Door drops with specific schedules are expected to go out for each floor, the week before work is expected to begin.

Both floors (47 and 48) carpet removal and hallway wall preparations with sanding and repairs to begin.

Tuesday September 26th

Both floors (47 and 48) wall preparations continue, remove old baseboards and light fixtures, install temporary light fixtures if needed – walls throughout hallways will be prepped for new paint and wallpaper, and repairs will continue.

Wednesday September 27th

Both floors (47 and 48) wall patching and sanding will be completed and painting of walls and trim will get underway.

Thursday September 28th

Both floors (47 and 48) painting continuing with walls and trim, and installation of new baseboards begins.

Friday September 29th

Both floors (47 and 48) complete painting walls and trim, install wallpaper and complete installation of baseboards.

Monday October 2nd

48th Floor Sand, prime and paint Unit doors. DOORS WILL BE OPEN 9am to 5pm while this work is being done. An employee of the building will be present at all times.

Hallway Remodeling Work Is Expected To Get Underway On The 52nd and 51st Floors, Monday August 28th

As Anticipated, The Updates To Floors 54 And 53 Should Start On Monday August 14th – Details Below In the Original Post.

After that, we will be working from the 52nd floor down, until all hallways have been remodeled. The progress and activity for the 52nd and 51st floors, getting underway Monday August 28th, is expected to unfold as follows:

Monday August 28th 

Both floors carpet removal and hallway wall preparations with sanding and repairs to begin.

Tuesday August 29th

Both floors wall preparations continue, remove old baseboards and light fixtures, install temporary light fixtures if needed – walls throughout hallways will be prepped for new paint and wallpaper, and repairs will continue.

Wednesday August 30th

Both floors wall patching and sanding will be completed and painting of walls and trim will get underway.

Thursday August 31st

Both floors painting continuing with walls and trim, and installation new baseboards begins.

Friday September 1st

Both floors complete painting walls and trim, install wallpaper and complete installation of baseboards.

Monday September 4th – Labor Day (no work)

Tuesday September 5th

Work Begins Monday August 14th on 54th Floor, And Friday August 18th on 53rd Floor

Work is expected to continue after that with the 52nd and 51st Floors, Monday August 28th

Consistent with the results of the recent survey, the PTCA Home Improvement Commission chose to recommend the design of the 55th Floor. This was approved by the Board of Directors at the June 12th Board Meeting and that means there will be some changes made on 53 and 54.

Our team placed orders for materials right away. Much has already been delivered for the bulk of what we need and after coordinating with the contractors, work has been scheduled.

Below is the anticipated schedule of work and activity for the 54th and 53rd Floors. Keep in mind, this is preliminary and subject to change if any unforeseen events or conditions are encountered.

For residents of these floors during this period of time, expect workers to be coming and going, periodic noise throughout the day, some dust, some odors when there is painting and gluing, and your entry doors will be open on days when sanding, priming and painting is done. This time, there will only be a light sanding of the doors, so that the new paint will sufficiently bond with the door.

54th and 53rd Floors

PLEASE NOTE, the following schedule is based on our present expectations and is subject to change unexpectedly. We will do our best to reach out to residents as quickly as possible should that happen. 

August 14th-16th Monday-Wednesday

54th Floor painting and wallpaper. 

August 17th Thursday

54th Floor Unit doors light sanding and repaint. Unit doors will be open. An employee of Park Tower will be present at all times. 

August 18th, 21st & 22nd Friday, Monday & Tuesday

53rd Floor painting and wallpaper. 

August 23rd Wednesday

53rd Floor Unit doors light sanding and repaint. Unit doors will be open. An employee of Park Tower will be present at all times. 

August 24th & 25th Thursday and Friday

53rd and 54th Floor Carpeting alterations.

More detailed schedules are expected be released for the 52nd and 53rd Floors, in the next couple weeks.
