Your Social Committee has just taken a BIG breath and committed once again to producing an Independence Day Picnic. By our flyers and Lobby display, you’ll see that it looks a lot like past Celebrations – and this year it will be on July 4 to keep it synced with the extravagant Fireworks display by our neighboring Saddle & Cycle Club, starting at dusk that day. But, again, we’ll be using wristbands for easy access, and there will be more vegetarian options and other tweaks that come with experience.

How can a small committee make such extravagant promises? Because we are optimistic that, like in years past, enough building residents will volunteer to make it all happen. 485 residents and guests attended the Celebration in 2022. With even more expected this time, we simply must have helpers to fill the 88 or so time slots that day and the day before. Please, consider and commit now. Thanks, and see you in a few weeks.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS

Monday, July 3 

From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Set up and decorate Party Room and Deck
Looking for 14 Volunteers

Tuesday, July 4

From 11:00 am to 2:30 pm
Finish setting up and decorating Party Room and Deck.
Looking for 6 Volunteers

From 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm
Help caterer assemble food and other odds-and-ends.
Looking for 6 Volunteers

From 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Lobby to welcome, sell wristbands (handling cash), and Party Room to monitor food/drink/tables/trash-recyclables, and help serve.
Looking for 55 volunteers (wearing “Helper” lanyards)

From 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm .. Clean-up!!
Looking for 7 volunteers

One more thing: We need coolers for drinks.  

If you or a member of your family can volunteer for one or more of these slots, please email Sheldon at ptcasocial@rcn.com, or text or call him at (773) 343-1022. He will confirm in like manner, by email, text or phone.

By whichever method start by typing “Sure, I can help!” in the subject line and proceed to confirm date, time slot, perhaps the offer of a cooler .. and, for sure, the name of the volunteer.

ORDER WRISTBANDS BY EMAIL

Owners and Registered Residents are welcome to order their own and their Guests wristbands by email from June 9 thru noon on July 2.

• Send an email to parktowercondo-mgmt@habitat.com
• Type “Independence Day Picnic” in the subject line.
• Name each Owner or Registered Resident (including children) for whom you are ordering “free” wristbands.
  • Adults must be on Management’s list of Owners/Registered Residents living in the building.
  • For children, simply say how many age 13 and up, how many age 12 and younger.
  • Do not order wristbands for babies in arms.
• For your Guests’ wristbands, we do not need names. Simply say how many are age 13 or older, and how many are 12 or younger.
  • Remember, discounted rates apply from June 9 – June 26 ($20 age 13 and older, $15 age 12 and younger).
  • On and after June 27, guest wristbands will be full price ($30 age 13 and older; $25 age 12 and younger).
  • Do not order wristbands for babies in arms — they’re free!
• Double check your math and state exactly the total amount you want added to your next assessment.
• Please end the email by stating your Name and Unit Number.

You’ll receive an email notice when it’s time to pick up your wristbands from the Doorman.

One more thing. Take care not to misplace those wristbands! We’ll charge $10 to replace any Owner/Registered Resident wristband, and full price to replace those of your guests!
