The alley behind 5352 – 5358 N. Winthrop Avenue & 1109 – 1111 W. Balmoral Avenue
Work Hours: 7am-7pm, continuous, 24/7 street closure
Work Activity: Drilled Shaft Installation
Local Impact:
W. Balmoral Avenue between the CTA tracks and N. Winthrop Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Sidewalk closures will alternate between the north and south sides of W. Balmoral Avenue.
One sidewalk will remain open at all times.
Residents south of W. Balmoral Avenue will need to access the alley via W. Berwyn Avenue.
Vehicles will be unable to enter/exit the parking spaces at 5352 – 5358 N. Winthrop Avenue and 1109 – 1111 W. Balmoral Avenue.
The contractor will provide alternative parking for impacted residents.

The contractor will maintain garbage and recycling pickup.
There will be noise while work is being performed. Noise will include: General construction noise,
Noise and vibration from drilling and hauling material, Beeping from backup alarms on maintenance equipment and vehicles, Flagging horns
In an effort to maintain track along the CTA Red Line, eliminate slow zones, and continue to provide quality rapid transit service, work will be performed that may affect your community. While progress sometimes comes with inconveniences, we will do our best to keep them to a minimum.
