We’ve heard about the broken windows up and down Lakeshore Drive and I personally heard several “Sonic Booms” throughout the day yesterday, which is something I don’t recall hearing in years past…at least not several over and over again. It was also remarkable how close some of the fighter jet and transport ship formations were over and next to buildings along Lakeshore.
They’ve seemed to take things up a notch this year. So much so, that we received some strong messages of concerns. Unfortunately we do not have a direct connect to the organizers, so it is important to share any such messages or complaints with our Alderman’s office:
LENI MANAA-HOPPENWORTH leni@the48thward.org;
The 48th Ward info@the48thward.org
Also, it is the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, on behalf of the City Council, that issues permits and accepts the planning for the Air & Water Show. If you want to share any feedback (compliments or complaints) with them directly, they can be reached as follows:
Phone: 312-744-3316
Email: dcase@cityofchicago.org
Aside from these concerns, apparently they have quite the show planned for us! Be safe and enjoy the view.
