It has become clear through both government and media sources that Hoverboards as presently sold are considered dangerous and unsafe. With the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and State Fire Marshal recently issuing statements warning consumers, the danger is real and there presence could put lives and households at risk for serious damages, injuries and even loss of life. Presently there are no reliable safety standards for the manufacture and use of hover boards. And the fire danger and risk of injury they present when kept, stored or used is now well documented through the media. Amazon.com recently even offered customers full refunds for their return.
At the February 22nd, 2017 Board of Directors Meeting, the Board passed a resolution directing management to begin an effort through communication to Owners and Residents to advise them of the danger which keeping and using these devices presents. Particularly in a high rise setting. Should the hover board combust it can pose a serious danger not just to you and your home, but to neighbors and the building.
