NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN ANY COMMON AREAS INCLUDING HALLWAYS AND STAIRS, AND SMOKE MAY NOT ESCAPE FROM UNITS INTO COMMON AREAS AND NEIGHBORING UNITS

Consistent with the Park Tower Association Declaration and Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, as well as the Chicago Clean Air Ordinance of 2008, smoking is prohibited within communities such as Park Tower, unless the odor remains completely within your unit. This includes cigarette smoke, marijuana, vaping and other behaviors that generate smoke.

This is strictly enforced. Fines for non-compliance begin at $250 and have reached as high as $2000 per event, and could go as high as $5000 per event.

Management does issue Violation Notices for confirmed smoke complaints, hearings are held with the PTCA Rules and Regulations Commission, and the Park Tower Condo Board DOES assess fines to the responsible Unit Owners.

We would like to avoid that, and ask for everyone’s understanding and cooperation. Also, if you observe anyone smoking in the common areas, or observe unwelcome smoke odors in your home, please report it right away and our team will investigate.
