Annual Elevator Safety Testing & Inspections

Beginning Friday May 9th 

Beginning Friday May 9th at 6am through mid-afternoon, OTIS elevator will be taking each elevator out of service, one at a time, to conduct mandatory annual safety tests. It is expected to be limited to no more than a couple hours per elevator, however if they find a problem or unforeseen condition additional time may be needed. Testing is expected to continue Monday May 12th and Tuesday May 13th if necessary.

The process is set to begin 6am on Friday with low rise passenger elevator 1, and each elevator thereafter in number order – low rise elevator 2, high rise elevators 3 then 4, service elevators 5 then 6, then mall elevators 7 then 8. (The low rise elevators serve the lobby through floor 23; the high rise elevators serve floors 23 through 55; the service elevators serve the garage levels 1p and 2p through the 55th floor, and the mall elevators serve the mall, and garage levels 1p and 2p.)

We sympathize with any inconvenience or delays this causes. These annual inspections are important to ensure the safe operation and condition of our elevators. We hope this notice allows you to plan some additional time if needed when coming and going on these days. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this important effort is completed.
