Thanks, Park Tower, for a great party for our Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 3rd. It was a true community endeavor in terms of both the number of people who came together to make it happen and the number of people who attended.
The committee, including Bob Shamo, Greg Nigosian, Monique Fouant, Rachita Gupta and Stephen Weiss, have been working on this since March, watching for sales on beer, soda and wine, planning publicity campaigns of emails, flyers, enlarged flyers, announcements in Management’s News & Updates and texts to explain the event, to solicit volunteers and to encourage people to obtain their wristbands and trying to figure out what to do vis-à-vis the pandemic.
The result was attendance by 485 people. There were 51 volunteers who filled 124 volunteer shifts. Enormous support was provided with complete professionalism, enthusiasm, élan and confidence from Management, Maintenance, Security, Front Desk and Parking Personnel.
Park Tower received the most outstanding and generous $550.00 donation from GoGrocer for all of the ice and Morning Star Farms Chipotle Black Bean Vegetarian Burgers that we consumed. This was an unsolicited gift and given to Park Tower in thanks for the generous way in which our Association has treated GoGrocer. We are tremendously grateful to Petros for this gift. Please stop by GoGrocer to thank them and let them know how much you appreciate their generosity.
It is only with the support of a large team that this party happens. The committee’s vision of the party is shaped, improved and supported by a lot of people – Tim, Kirsty, Jacquie and Danny, our Management Team, designed a log to keep track of wristband transactions and flawlessly kept track of them, posted endless flyers, sent texts, arranged parking for our hired personnel, published so creatively with Tim’s own designs postings in News & Updates, Maintenance, especially Bill, Wally and Dilan, who, despite being low on personnel, accepted responsibility for realizing a long list of wishes from the committee with amazing ease, swiftness and smiles. We received excellent service from our front desk, parking and security staffs, especially Adonis who executed his job with such passion and timeliness it was awe-inspiring. Also, thank you to our Board of Directors for their support and guidance in making this event happen.
We had delicious food and drink much of it from the hands of our wonderful caterer, Eat Catering (Alicia Gellineau) and her staff, fun music from DJ Creagh Bennewate and line dancing led by our own neighbor, Eve Brownstone.
Check out the photos, most of which were taken by our volunteer photographers, Patrice Woodridge, Jim Jardine and Andrés Brown, uploaded at:

This was a community coming together to befriend and support each other in the best possible ways. And then there was the perfect weather, truly a gift, and the fireworks provided by our neighbors at the Saddle & Cycle Club, all of which were the icing on the cake.
Here’s a list of our volunteers. Say, “hi”, when you see them around (also shout out a thank you to our generous, hard-working and wonderful staff) knowing that we are all on the same winning team! –
