Visiting The Deck And Roof Garden

Visibly, the Park Tower roof deck is a standout among the amenities serving residents and owners. Whether you’re sunbathing, just going for a walk and enjoying the nice weather, taking a look at this year’s flowers, or visiting with friends or neighbors outdoors, this time of year it is an extension of everyone’s home and essentially each unit’s “back yard”. Our staff works hard to keep this area presentable and with the exception of extreme weather the deck is open and accessible for you to visit during the hours the health club are open each day.
A few of our residents have not been very neighborly this summer when visiting the deck. We have had children with skateboards, a charcoal grill, and a couple groups becoming overly merry with the libations (if you know what I mean). Sometimes early morning and late at night. All of us need to remember, that just steps away we have neighbors. Rowdiness or excessive noise can interfere with folks sleeping or watching a movie or just trying to relax after a long day. Management has received complaints from units as close as the 3rd floor and all the way up to the 6th and 7th floors, when there has been loud or rowdy behavior on the deck.
Overall, we just ask that residents remember everyone has a right to enjoy their homes and this space without excessive or unnecessary disturbances. You can arrange to grill with the Association’s gas grills. (Just contact the office for more information.) And partying, being rowdy or playing with toys (balls, skateboards, etc…) is not permitted. Following are the Rules and Regulations covering this amenity, from pages 24 and 25 of the handbook:
ROOF GARDEN AND SUNDECK
The roof garden is located on the south side of the second floor and is available for use by all Park Tower residents and their accompanied guests. The sundeck is located on the north side of the second floor (located directly outside the pool area). It is for use by members of the healthclub only. The roof garden and sundeck will usually be closed during the winter and inclement weather including thunderstorms, snow, ice and temperatures below freezing when there may be a risk of ice falling from the tower.
Association grills may be rented by any Park Tower resident and setup at the far east area of the roof garden located by the circle planter. The terms and conditions for grilling can be obtained by contacting the management office, and reservations can be made at the front desk. Private barbecues, hibachis, or other similar devices are expressly prohibited on the roof garden except for association sponsored activities. Non-owner residents can reserve the association’s grills only by obtaining the unit owner’s permission. Owners are responsible for any and all applicable fees and damages.
Glass containers are not allowed. Littering, damaging, throwing things (cigarette butts ,paper, plastic, etc.) onto or off of the roof garden, or causing any annoyances or disturbances is prohibited. Residents will also be banned from using the area and held responsible for the full costs of repairs to and/or replacement of damaged property.
Smoking is permitted only in the far east corner by the ashtray receptacles located there for that purpose.
This is a unique and fantastic amenity. By taking care to use it consistent with these policies, it can be enjoyed by all owners and residents.
